Time for a Robot CEO? With advancing Artificial Intelligence?

Back then Alibaba CEO Jack Ma made it to the headlines for proclaiming the arrival of robot CEO. He stated at a conference in China that we are only a few decades away from having robots run our companies. He also predicted in a television interview that it would take 30years, where a robot would get to the cover of Time Magazine. Alibaba is not only the one predicting it but SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son at a Mobile Conference 2017 predicted that machine learning will take over at a great speed by 2047. The job market will suffer if this is the case with the rise of robotics and artificial intelligence.

Earlier this year, Alibaba CEO Jack Ma made headlines for proclaiming the imminent arrival of the robot CEO. He told an audience at a conference in China that we are only decades away from having robots run our companies. He backed that claim up shortly after via a television interview with CNN, predicting that, in 30 years, a robot would grace the cover of Time Magazine. As implausible as that scenario might seem to some, he's not isolated in his thinking. Earlier this year, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son spoke at Mobile World Conference 2017 about the concept of'singularity' – the point at which machine intelligence will surpass our own and start improving itself at an exponential rate – which he predicts will happen as soon as 2047.

Robot CEO: Your next boss could run on code

A report shown at the 2016 World Economic Forum in January says millions of jobs will be lost to robots in the next few years. When thinking about who is most vulnerable, factory workers, drivers, and pilots come to mind. Surely the jobs requiring a human touch, such as artists, entertainers, and managers, will stick around, right? Maybe some of those jobs will be safe. Managers, not so much; very soon, robots will be replacing humans in top management positions, even up to the CEO level.
